| I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about the spinoff Homura's Revenge, on this site or elsewhere... in fact, I didn't even know it existed until I saw it alongside the other PMMM manga spinoffs in the bookstore. So, I was wondering if any of you have read it?
If you don't know about it, basically the premise is that on one of the pre-anime timelines, Homura took Madoka to a new timeline with her, and Madoka retained the knowledge of what happened in the past timeline. |

| I've read it and I really liked it. Of course it's everything but Homura's revenge. Poor girl gets more suffering instead. Problem is, Madoka wasn't the only one who followed her to the next timeline. Kyubey realized what Homura was planning and grabbed on to Madoka.
From that time on the little bastard really does his best to mess up the next timeline too. |

Have you read it, Sayakasfav? If so, what did you think? I have read it! I thought it was really good :D Unfortunately for Homura, like alvaro84 said, it really is anything but Homura's revenge. More like Homura's attempted revenge (on Kyubey). The ending is rather bittersweet; while technically a negative ending (which is pretty much a given, considering it takes place in one of Homura's previous do-overs), there are some good things that come out of it. I won't give the details, so I won't spoil it completely. |

| Read it before. Interesting in its own right, but I do wish Mami actually did survive. How she wound up dying in the exact same place as originally, just from a moment of distraction, was just cheap. Homura could have come in shooting at Charlotte, and Mami could have suffered alongside Homura while fighting Kirsten, seeing her late parents while Homura saw Madoka on the screens.
Did she die anyway specifically because she already survived in The Different Story, or was it just fortunate that we already explored the possibility of her having survived Charlotte? |

| I always thought the point of that was to show how hard it is to actually change fate/previous outcomes. Though I agree that it seemed pretty cheap. |

| I finished the first volume and skimmed through the second so far. It's pretty good. I think its really interesting how Madoka remembers everything in that timeline. It also find the concept of it being impossible to change fate interesting too. I.e. Everything that happened before still happens anyway, just in a different way. Mami still dies, Madoka still meets some sort of tragic end, etc. Even though the means are different, the outcome is always the same in all the timelines. Also, this manga makes me hate Kyuubey even more which I didn't know was even possible since he's the one that tries to make all the outcomes stay the same. |
